Economics as a second subject in a combined bachelor’s course
The bachelor’s course with a subject combination (combined bachelor) consists of a core subject and a second subject. The degree programme can be taken only with the complete set of two subjects.
Economics as a second subject covers a total of 60 credit points.
Structure of Economics as a second subject in a combined bachelor's course

Compulsory courses (24 CP):
- Economics I: Introduction to Economics and Economic History (6 CP)
- Economics II: Microeconomics I (6 CP)
- Economics III: Macroeconomics I (6 CP)
- Mathematics I (6 CP)
12 credit points from the highest graded courses of the 24 credit points from the compulsory courses are relevant for the final grade.
Compulsory Elective Field (36 CP):
6 credit points from:
- Mathematics II (6 CP)
- Statistics I (6 CP)
- Statistics II (6 CP)
- Introduction to Econometrics (6 CP)
6 credit points from:
- Economics IV: Microeconomics II (6 CP)
- Economics V: Macroeconomics II (6 CP)
12 credit points from:
- International Trade (6 LP)
- Labour Economics (6 LP)
- Introduction to Game Theory (6 LP)
- Monetary Economics (6 LP)
- Foundations of Public Finance (6 LP)
If students earn more than the required credit points in these areas, the free elective area is reduced accordingly.
Elective Field (12 LP):
Students have to take 12 credit points (or the difference to 36 credit points) from Elective Modules in Economics or Elective Modules in Quantitative Methods. These 12 credit points may be acquired in a semester abroad if they are graded University courses from the field of Economics or Quantitative Methods.
