Before the doctoral studies
Upon successful completion of the doctoral exam, the School of Business and Economics awards the title of Doctor of Economics (Dr. rer. pol.) in the following subjects:
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Statistics and Econometrics
- Information Systems
The basic prerequisite for admission to doctoral studies at the School of Business and Economics is supervision by a professor within the School. The supervisory relationship must be regulated by a supervision agreement.
You can either complete a structured doctoral degree programme or an individual programme in close coordination with a supervising professor from the School. Please also note that some professors of the School only supervise doctoral studies within the framework of a structured doctoral degree programme. More information can be found on the respective websites of the professors.
In individual cases, it is also possible to complete doctoral studies externally. In this case, you are requested to look for a supervisor for your studies among the professors working within the School.
