The goal of Semantic Web Mining is to use semantics to
improve Web mining, and to obtain semantics from the results of mining.
Towards this end, Semantic Web technologies and metadata are used and
inferred. We have developed formalisms and methods for the use and
extension of ontologies; in particular in order to use and infer
